Your Privacy, Copyright and Personal Data

Within the current technological climate, amidst breaches and misuse of data, we wanted to take a moment to reassure everyone who uses Mind Map Pro that your data is your data. It belongs to you and we won’t try to take it from you or use it against you.

Following revelations of disinformation and fake news mixed with allegations of misuse of personal data, intense criticism has emerged from all corners of the world.

But these scandals surrounding Silicon Valley actually expose a far bigger problem: the way many companies use data is wrong.

Copyright & Ownership

Terms and conditions are often so filled with legal jargon that most people won’t pick up on some major issues around ownership of the information they share, whether privately through a messaging app or through a work tool.

Is it okay for people to lose the rights to their own ideas just because they type them into an external web platform or app? No.

Our terms and conditions are written with you in mind. We won’t try to claim copyright of your work.

When you come up with ideas in Mind Map Pro, you own your own data.

If you write a novel, create a business plan or develop an innovation solution to a global problem when using Mind Map Pro, you hold the rights to your work. We’re just pleased that we could offer a platform to help.

Security & GDPR

In terms of personal data, we’ve taken precautions to ensure this is handled in a secure and responsible way, and our processes have tightened up ahead of EU regulatory changes this Spring.

In Europe, new regulations for GDPR mean that companies must have a valid reason to hold your personal data, and you have the right to ask for a copy of the data they are storing about you, and to request they delete it.

After four years of preparation and debate, the new GDPR was approved by the EU Parliament on 14 April 2016 and will be enforced by 25 May 2018.

We’ll provide an update in May, but until then, we’d like to firmly assure you that, at Mind Map Pro, we prioritise our users and are dedicated to providing a secure, compliant platform for you to develop your own ideas.
